The Dubuque Senior High School vs. Hempstead High School baseball games scheduled for today, Thursday, July 7, have been moved to Senior due to field conditions. The sophomore game will begin at 3 p.m. with varsity to follow.

Dubuque Middle School Track Meets Postponed, Saturday, April 30
Two Dubuque Community School District middle school track meets scheduled for Saturday, April 30, have been postponed due to the forecast for inclement weather.
The Jefferson Middle School Girls Invitational Track Meet scheduled for 9 a.m. and the Roosevelt Middle School Boys Invitational Track Meet scheduled for 12:30 p.m., both at Dalzell Field, have been postponed.
A make-up date has not been determined.
Senior/Hempstead Substate Game Location Changed
The substate final between Dubuque Senior High School and Hempstead High School tomorrow, Tuesday, March 1, has been moved to Maquoketa High School at 7 p.m. The game was previously scheduled to be played at Davenport North. The winner will advance to the state tournament.

New 2016 Kindergarten Kick-Off Event at Dubuque Public Elementary Schools, Feb. 16
A new Dubuque Community School District event will help give families a jump-start on preparing for kindergarten.
The Kindergarten Kick-Off, scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 16, gives families the chance to drop-in between 3:30-6 p.m. at 12 of Dubuque’s public elementary schools. At the event, families will complete initial kindergarten paperwork, receive a packet of paperwork to take with them, and have a chance to meet school staff. As a charter school, Prescott Elementary School will begin kindergarten sign-up during its enrollment period in late February.

In mid-December, Table Mound Elementary School students participated in a tradition that dates back to 1968 and has been held every presidential election year since — the Table Mound Mock Presidential Convention.
FBI Internet Safety Presentation, Jan. 7
The Dubuque Community School District will host “Internet Safety for Parents and Community,” presented by a representative from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), on Thursday, Jan. 7, at 6:30 p.m. in the Washington Middle School Auditorium. The event is free and the public is invited to attend.
Hempstead Dedication and Open House Photos
Check out photos below from the October 3 dedication and open house celebrating the $30 million renovation of Hempstead High School.
The $30 million project, which broke ground in May 2013, includes the addition of a 700-seat auditorium, an auxiliary gym with two courts and seating for 450, additional classroom space for music and technology education, a new kiln room in art, new administrative offices and other mechanical and safety enhancements. The project is well ahead of its anticipated January 2016 completion.
‘Kindness Diaries’ Author Leon Logothetis to Speak at Prescott, Oct. 8
Global adventurer, motivational speaker and philanthropist Leon Logothetis will speak at Prescott Elementary School at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, in the school’s gymnasium. The event is open to the public and admission is free.

Elementary Fun Run, Sept. 19
The Dubuque Community School District will host its annual Elementary Fun Run on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 10:30 a.m. at Dalzell Field. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. and all ages are welcome to participate in the free event. An adult must accompany participating children to the event.
The event, hosted as part of the district’s wellness education program, is designed to provide a fun morning of recreation while promoting lifelong wellness in the community.
