Preschool Enrollment

Participation Requirements

Students enrolling in the FREE four-year-old voluntary preschool program must meet two requirements:

Your child MUST reside in the State of Iowa (preschool does not follow district home-school boundaries, so you can register at the school you wish)

Your child MUST BE four years old by September 15, 2024

How to Enroll and Register

Space may be limited in some facilities and enrollment applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications will be time-stamped and are not considered complete until proof of age and proof of residency are submitted.

COMPLETE AND SUBMIT ONLINE ENROLLMENT APPLICATION

Online enrollment for both district elementary school-based preschools and participating community preschools will open at NOON on MONDAY, JANARY 8.

SUBMIT REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

The following documents are required for enrollment:

Proof of Age
(birth certificate preferred)
Proof of Residency
(document must be current and include a date; name and address on document must match the name and address of the parent or legal guardian of the student(s) being enrolled)

Please provide one of the following:
» mortgage statement from last or current month
» current rental or lease agreement
» utility bill from last or current month
» current property record or most recent tax receipt
» bank statement from last or current month
» pay stub from last or current month

Ways to submit the required paperwork:

Upload the document during the online enrollment application process
Drop off a printed copy to the district enrollment office at 2300 Chaney Road

Enrollment applications will not be considered complete until these documents have been submitted.

SUBMIT REQUIRED PAPERWORK

The following required paperwork must be submitted before the first day of school:

Physical Examination
Immunization Certificate

Ways to submit the required paperwork:

Upload the document during the online enrollment application process
Drop off a printed copy to the district enrollment office at 2300 Chaney Road
Request your student’s healthcare provider fax a copy to the district enrollment office
Request assistance by calling the district at 563/552-3000

Students will NOT be allowed to attend school without all required documents on file with the district.

To ensure your student’s enrollment application is complete and processed by the first day of the 2024-2025 school year, it is recommended that all required paperwork be submitted no later than Friday, August 9, 2024.

Please note:

Your child may not attend free preschool for two years.
Your child may not attend free preschool if they are five on or before September 15, 2024.
After the last day of the current school year, any available preschool slots for the upcoming school year will be made available for tuition-paying three- and five-year-olds at both district elementary school-based preschools and participating community preschools.

Be advised that at any time the Iowa State Legislature may consider proposals that could reduce or eliminate funding for some preschool programs.
